Classic French Fries
Ingredients
- 1 Lb Russet potatoes
- 1 Tbs Vegetable or Olive Oil
- Hot (not boiling) water
- 1/2 tsp Salt
Instructions
- 1. Peel potatoes and cut lengthwise into 1/4 inch thick sticks. Place in a large bowl and add enough water to cover. Let stand for 10 minutes. Drain, pat dry and return to dry bowl . Add oil and salt.
- 2. Preheat air fryer to 360°.
- 3. Place half the potatoes in a single layer in air fryer basket. Air fry for five minutes. Open basket and, with tongs, gently toss the potatoes. Increased temperature to 390° and air fry for 12 to 16 minutes, opening basket twice more to toss, until golden brown. Serve immediately. Repeat with the remaining potatoes.
- It only took me six minutes for the second part of this recipe.
- Variations:
- Garlic, Parmesan Fries: add 2 teaspoons of minced garlic when tossing the potatoes in step three. Toss the finished fries with 1 tablespoon of freshly grated Parmesan cheese and 1 tablespoon of minced fresh parsley before serving.
- Cajun Fries: Replace the salt with 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- Rosemary Fries: Add 1 tsp minced fresh Rosemary when tossing the potatoes in step 3.
